how would u feel if ur parents locked u inside a cage juz enough 4 u to lie down n stand up.... bad right???
but placing them in a cage is also a form of punishment... however, u should'nt lock them for too long... there are some dogs that are too used being in a cage that they would even sleep there and not mind staying there...and not treat it as a punishment...
u should look for a big cage if u plan to lock them in for a long period of time(this especially applies for big breeds)...

But since it is very hard to find. You can try brands like Scicene Diet & Cesar. ((:
In my opinion, you shouldn't buy PEDIGREE* for toy dogs as it is very salty.
It may cause the dog to shed its glossy and smooth fur.
For big dogs, you can use pedigree and some meaty food/rice.
if you wanna give your dogs bones or oily stuff, boil it in hot water first.

the first thing tat u want to do when you bring the puppy home is to bring the puppy to its sleeping place...
afther feeding the puppy, you should bring it to the place that it is suppose to eliminate at...
if it eliminates at the wrong place, do not give the puppy any attention(shout or scold) ...
the puppy may do this purposely to get your attention, so if it gets the attention because it elimated in the wrong place, it will do this whenever it wants attention...
if your puppy bites you or your furniture or does anything that u do not want him to do, give it a stern NO...
if you do not want your dog to dirty your suit when you come home from work, don't give it any attention when it greets you afther you come home from work...
however you must do this everytime you come home from work or the dog will get confused..

If you have decided to get your dog and can fulfill all the conditions, you need not buy from a pet shop. You can adopt it from your local SPCA.
The #SPCA will give you the dog but you will have to pay for the neutering of the dog. The SPCA also has cats, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils etc.
you can play with the cats and dogs. The cats are together in a big cag. The dogs are in separate cages. The SPCA will advertise in the Classifieds afew dogs that are in TOP NOTCH conditions for adoption. The advertisemnt will also includ the charateristics of the dogs and some tips.
It is entirely your choice to adopt or buy you dog. But I suggest that you adopt one as there is limited space in the SPCA.
If the animals dont get adopted. They will be put to sleep.

- u should now think about the breed of ur dog...if ur hse is nt tat big, buy a toy breed eg. a chihuahua or a papillon...if u think of getting one of those giant sized dogs,think trice....
- think about where ur dog is going 2 sleep... where it is going to eat...who is going to care 4 it...
